If you’re buying dry herb vaporizers from a vape shop online, be sure to ask yourself these questions beforehand. This way, you will get the best results from your vape purchase
Will a portable or desktop vaporizer work best for me?
You have to decide whether desktop or portable vaporizers, like the legendary Arizer Solo Vaporizer, are right for your needs. The choice should be quite clear: will you find yourself vaping more away from home than at home?
If you will be regularly vaping away from home then it is probably a good idea to get a portable vape with plenty of power. Conversely, desktop vapes, whilst being confined to home use, have plenty of oomph and can produce a fine, tasty vaping experience.
Do I want a convection or conduction vape?
Vape ovens heat herbs in either the conduction or convection method. Conduction ovens heat via touch, quickly producing a nice, highly inhalable vapor. But this can also mean that it heats the dry herb unevenly, heating the herb closest to the heating element and not the herb sitting further away.
Conversely, convection vapes work by heating the air and then the vape’s oven. Whilst this method can be quite slow, as well as using more battery power, it certainly heats the herb more evenly and allows for a robust, rounded vaping experience.
What is my budget?
Vaporizers are one of those gadgets that can really fluctuate in price, ranging anywhere from $30 to $500. This can be pretty confusing for a vape newcomer, but the main thing to remember is this: you do not want to waste money on something that will only conk out after a handful of uses.
This doesn’t mean you should necessarily have to buy the very best model on the market - a high quality, mid-priced ($250 - $300) vaporizer should be able to provide the power and temp you need to produce a fine vaping sensation. Otherwise, you might just find yourself stuck with something cheap, ineffective and highly worthy of the rubbish bin.
What are its oven materials?
A quality vape oven can really make the difference between a good and amazing experience. Therefore, it is important to consider the vape oven’s materials before purchase. The most popular materials are ceramic, glass and stainless steel.
Glass is awesome as it doesn’t impede on the smooth taste of the cloud. However, it’s more susceptible to breaking and is therefore rarely used in portable vaporizers.
Stainless steel is non-corrosive and non-porous, making it great for both safety and efficiency. However, it is typically found in more expensive vaporizers, something that may take it out of your budget if you’re not looking for the Ferrari of vapes!
Ceramic is easily the most popular oven material as it is cost-efficient and highly effective. It helps to produce a good vapor but can become difficult to clean once it takes on the colouring from your dry herb.
NOTE: Do not go with a plastic oven - the heat burns the plastic and releases toxic chemicals.
Do your research
Vaping isn’t one of those, “all good, anything I grab will be fine” kind of things. You do want to conduct some research before making your purchase, being sure not to buy the cheapest, first thing you see, as this will only be a waste of money and produce a poor vaping experience.
Look around and consider what vape is right for you using the above questions - you should be able to find a fine gadget that produces an amazing experience!
