Phimosis or more commonly known as tight foreskin is a growing problem in adults all over the world. Tight foreskin problem in adults is present only in uncircumcised men. A case can be called a case of phimosis when the foreskin is too tight to slide up and down the glans (hood/head) of the penis. Problem in phimosis include but not limited to problem passing urine, coming too early while having sex, extremely sensitive hood, and pain while having sex.
Phimosis in adults
can be categorized in 2 types, one is physiological and the other is
pathological. It is the pathological phimosis that causes most harm and
requires visit to a doctor since it can grow and only worsen over time. Whereas
the physiological phimosis is mostly curable at home without much discomfort
and mostly resolves on its own.
The foremost sign of
phimosis in any person is that it causes pain when you try to slide the
foreskin up and down. The pain will arise from foreskin. There’s another pain
that is common in phimosis patients and that is the glans will be extremely
sensitive to touch, and this brings us to our next point.
Most people with
phimosis complain of overly sensitive glans and that is quite natural to have
since a phimosis person’s hood/head/glans have always been covered inside the
foreskin and has never had any chance to pop out and come in contact with
touch, air or water.
Foul odor
Due to smegma build
up a foul odor comes out of the foreskin and if this persists for long enough,
you better visit a doctor. This happens mostly due to microbes build up under
foreskin
If you find white
crystals under foreskin, this is smegma. Smegma is mostly made of oil and skin
cells of under side of glans, they mix together and when not cleaned regularly,
it creates a foul odour.
Visiting a doctor is
100% recommended when you find yourself suffering from pain while having sex.
To find out what’s wrong only a doctor’s visit is useful in such a case.
